AIS boosts net income 42% y-o-y

10 Aug 2012

Thailand’s largest cellco by subscribers Advanced Info Service (AIS), part-owned by Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), has posted a 42% year-on-year rise in second-quarter net profit to THB8.71 billion (USD276 million), although the figure was slightly less than the record profits of THB8.93 billion recorded in the previous quarter. The year-on-year increase in profitability in April-June 2012 was driven by higher revenue from voice and data services, as take-up of smartphones and tablets accelerated.
