Bangladesh’s largest cellco by subscribers, Dialog Axiata, has reported its consolidated results for the second quarter and first half of 2012, including its fixed line/broadband and pay-TV subsidiaries Dialog Broadband Networks and Dialog Television (DTV). The group, a unit of Malaysia’s Axiata, achieved Q2 and H1 revenues of LKR14.1 billion (USD107 million) and LKR27.0 billion, representing quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year growth rates of 10% and 23% respectively. Group EBITDA for Q2 2012 was recorded at LKR4.7 billion, up 4% q-o-q, while EBITDA for January-June 2012 reached LKR9.2 billion, an increase of 25% compared to the corresponding six-month period in 2011. EBITDA margin for the six months ended 30 June 2012 remained stable on a y-o-y basis at 34%. CAPEX during H1 2012 amounted to LKR5.0 billion and was directed in the main towards strategic investments in high speed mobile broadband and optical fibre network expansion projects.
