Canadian quadruple-play telco Telus has reported that net income for the quarter ended 30 June 2012 reached CAD328 million (USD327 million), up by CAD4 million year-on-year, on revenues that climbed by 4.3% to CAD2.67 billion. The group’s mobile division added a net 112,000 new post-paid subscribers in the second quarter, 22% more than in 2Q11, while mobile ARPU rose 2.4% to CAD60.29, as higher data ARPU offset falling voice ARPU. The company also reduced its blended wireless customer churn to 1.39% in Q2 2012, down from 1.67% in the same quarter of last year; post-paid churn fell to 1.00% from 1.34%. Telus raised its 2012 revenue forecast by CAD50 million to CAD10.75 billion-CAD11.05 billion based on its wireless sales growth, and also upped its EBITDA forecast, now saying that EBITDA will increase by between 3% and 7% in the full-year, compared to its previous prediction of 1%-6%.
