Alice well that ends well, Tele2 ditches old brand name

2 Aug 2012

Dutch operating arm Tele2 NL has discontinued the use of the Alice brand in the country, the firm announced via a newsletter to end users. The unit secured the rights to the branding when it purchased Telecom Italia’s Dutch business BBned in July 2010, but the licence is now expiring. Going forward, existing customer subscriptions will not materially change and those on Alice plans will still be able to use the alice.nl domain for e-mails it said. Tele2 NL stopped selling Alice-brand products over a year ago while many of its existing Alice users have also been migrated to Tele2 NL plans.
