Banglalink offered USD537m for towers

Bangladesh’s third-largest cellco Banglalink, part of Orascom Telecom (a division of the Vimpelcom group) has reportedly been offered INR30 billion (USD537 million) for its cellular network tower business by Indian telecoms infrastructure group Quippo, part of the Srei Group. According to unnamed sources cited by India’s Economic Times, a proposed deal would see a tower management contract issued to Quippo’s sister company Viom Networks, which could eventually take over ownership of all Banglalink’s towers, currently numbering approximately 5,200.
