Ukraine’s largest cableco Volia is potentially lining up a purchase of the cable assets of Czech investment group PPF, which owns several Ukrainian regional networks in partnership with Italian-based firm Generali, largely in the west of the country, operating under the Odeko banner. According to Broadband TV News, PPF has been looking for a buyer for the assets for some time, and is now reportedly close to exiting the Ukrainian cable market, having already sold some other interests in the country due to uncertain economic and political conditions. The report says the sale could fetch ‘hundreds of millions of crowns’ (CZK100 million = USD4.93 million).
