The Kuwaiti cellular operator Viva has reported revenues of KWD94 million (USD337 million) for 2011 and a net loss for the year of KWD14 million. The cellco, which recently announced that it had passed the one million subscriber milestone, says it now accounts for 20% of Kuwait’s mobile telephony market. Viva, which is backed by Saudi Telecom Company (STC), launched Kuwait’s third cellular network in December 2008, competing against more established players Zain and Wataniya (NMTC).
