TOT signs network upgrade deal with NSN

10 Apr 2012

Thai state-owned telco TOT has inked a deal with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to upgrade its 3G network to 42Mbps HSPA+. The Finnish vendor is expected to complete the upgrades by the end of this month, and TOT’s subscribers will see mobile broadband speeds increase from the current level of 7.2Mbps. ‘The Thai mobile market is extremely competitive. With demand for data skyrocketing and operators looking to venture into the 3G space, we knew this was the right time to upgrade our 3G network,’ said Monchai Noosong, acting president at TOT.
