No more PHS services, concludes OFTA

2 Mar 2012

Following a consultation, Hong Kong regulator OFTA has concluded that the frequency allocation for PHS services in the 1895MHz-1906.1MHz band should be withdrawn. Subject to the approval of the Legislative Council, it is expected that the amendment will take effect by end-2012, when the selling of PHS apparatus in Hong Kong will cease, and the use of the apparatus will no longer be allowed by end-2015.
