Two Telekom Austria subsidiaries in eastern Europe have signed five-year managed services agreements with Swedish equipment supplier Ericsson. The deals with MobilTel (M-Tel) in Bulgaria and Si.Mobil in Slovenia will see Ericsson take responsibility for the field operation of mobile access and transmission networks, including base station and core network sites. Ericsson now claims to be managing networks with a combined user base of some 900 million worldwide.
