IBW stages MVNO negotiations across Central America

2 Feb 2012

Pan-Central American WiMAX operator IBW Group, which counts operations in Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Costa Rica, has reportedly entered into negotiations with a number of operators in the region regarding the introduction of a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO)-style business model, which would see other companies piggyback on its WiMAX network. CTO Paul Choiseul told BNamericas: ’We’re currently talking with two operators, and there are other potentially interested parties. These operators are considering MVNO operations in Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica.’
