Canadian triple-play cable operator Cogeco Cable has reported its financial and operating results for its fiscal first quarter ended 30 November 2011. Net profit rose to CAD42.9 million (USD42.8 million) in the three-month period, up from CAD34.5 million the year earlier, on revenues that climbed 8% year-on-year to CAD356.9 million. Quarterly operating profit increased by 5.5% y-o-y to CAD136.5 million. Cogeco ended the period with 618,499 high speed cable modem internet customers and 442,712 telephony users, up from 575,929 and 375,463 respectively one year earlier at end-November 2010.
