Digiweb to upgrade network backbone with BTI solution

16 Nov 2011

Dublin-based alternative operator Digiweb has selected BTI Systems to replace its network backbone with a multi-service packet optical networking platform. The new backbone will increase WDM capacity and extend Digiweb’s regional reach for SDH, TDM and Ethernet-based services. Digiweb picked BTI Systems’ 7000 Series optical networking platform, along with the 10-port Multiprotocol Muxponder (10-port MXP) and Dual 10G Multiprotocol Transponder (10G DTPR). The altnet provides carrier Ethernet, MPLS, broadband voice and data services to government, corporate and residential customers in the Republic.
