Danish telecoms operator TDC has announced the commercial launch of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the country’s ten largest cities. Both business and residential users will be able to benefit from the 4G infrastructure, which supports maximum download speeds of up to 80Mbps and theoretical upload speeds of 5Mbps for private users and up to 20Mbps for corporate customers. ‘With the launch of 4G, TDC is breaking new ground in what mobile internet can be used for,’ commented Johan Kirstein Brammer, director of TDC Mobile, adding: ‘You can send and receive even very large files and business documents much faster and more efficiently than before. There will be even better opportunities for everything from gaming and streaming direct television to downloading music and sharing videos with the rest of the world. You can do everything you can do today, just ten times faster and better.’ Coverage of TDC’s LTE network is currently available in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Randers, Kolding, Horsens, Vejle and Roskilde.
