Videotron reports ‘better than expected’ mobile growth

Canadian quadruple-play cableco Videotron, based exclusively in Quebec, has reported that in April-June 2011 it increased its mobile subscriber base on its own HSPA+ mobile network by 52,700, bringing the total subscriber base to 210,600, with an additional small base of MVNO customers using the Rogers network (subscriptions no longer marketed by Videotron). According to the company, the mobile customer take-up exceeded its targets. Also at the end of the second quarter of 2011, Videotron had 1.141 million residential and business subscribers to its cable telephone service, adding 11,800 customers in the three-month period.
