Datagroup cock-a-hoop on TV debut

13 Jun 2011

Ukrainian alternative telco Datagroup has announced that it will launch commercial TV services to complete a triple-play line-up in five cities including the capital Kiev next month, reports Broadband TV News. Datagroup holds licences in twelve cities to operate TV services, which it is deploying under its Domashniy Telecom consumer internet and telephony brand, launched in autumn 2010. Earlier this month it reported a total of 100,000 fixed broadband internet subscribers, up by around 25% in three months, having received a USD40 million funding boost from Horizon Capital a year ago. According to its website, over the next two years Datagroup will cooperate with Horizon Capital in order to attract additional investment of around USD100 million. Previously heavily focused on corporate services, Datagroup has 34 branches across Ukraine, and offers its full range of services in 22 cities.
