Ulusnet to expand WiMAX coverage

Mongolian WiMAX operator Ulusnet has inked a network deal with Airspan Networks. The vendor will improve coverage in capital city Ulaanbaatar, as well as begin deployment in more rural areas. Ulusnet CEO Byambatseren Davaakhuu said, ‘Mongolia is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia and with a growing economy comes a higher demand for high-speed connectivity. Ulusnet is well positioned to continue to serve Mongolian resident and commercial customers with 4G data and voice services.’ According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, the operator offers several WiMAX packages costing between USD50 per month and USD160 per month, and ranging in speed from 512kbps to 2Mbps.
