Vodafone acquires IP firm Interfusion

5 Apr 2011

Vodafone Ireland has completed the acquisition of Irish-owned managed IP network operator Interfusion Networks. The cellco says it intends to run the IP firm as a stand-alone operation, working under its existing management structure. The takeover of Dublin-based Interfusion, which employs 21 people and has more than 300 customers in the Republic, will strengthen Vodafone’s ability to act as a communications provider for businesses and public sector organisations. Commenting on the deal, Interfusion managing director Steve MacNicholas said: ‘The emergence of cloud technologies will drive growth for scalable and secure IP network infrastructures. Interfusion’s expertise in this area combined with Vodafone’s strategic vision offers an exciting future for all the team.’
