Kyivstar to hive off old Beeline towers abroad

1 Apr 2011

Ukraine’s largest mobile operator Kyivstar is selling excess base stations which are being decommissioned as a result of its integration with Ukrainian Radio Systems (Beeline Ukraine), its sister unit in the Vimpelcom group. The surplus cell towers are being sold to other operators, mainly in other countries, according to Telecompaper quoting Kommentarii. To eliminate inefficiencies in the network, Kyivstar plans to remove two-thirds of former Beeline base stations while keeping all its own.
