NCCR auctions additional regional CDMA 800MHz mobile spectrum

25 Mar 2011

Ukraine’s National Commission for Communications Regulation (NCCR) has decided to hold a tender for licences to use additional 800MHz band radio frequencies in the Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi regions for mobile CDMA-based services, reports Delo.ua. The decision was prompted by demand for the spectrum exceeding supply, the regulator explained. A tender will be held for blocks of 2.5MHz bandwidth, valid until 2016. Applications for participation in the contest will be accepted from 1-29 April 2011, and the process is set to be completed by 8 June 2011. The winner will be determined by a tender commission headed by the chairman of NCCR, based on the highest bid price.
