Mobilkom Serbia, operating under the Telekom Austria group brand VIP Mobile, has announced that it has upgraded its mobile broadband network to be capable of offering download speeds of up to 42Mbps, by introducing Dual Carrier (DC) HSPA+ technology. The new platform initially covers Serbia’s six biggest cities, or 31% of the population, with plans to expand coverage to other urban areas by the end of the year. The company said it has invested EUR618.8 million (USD837 million) in its Serbian network to date, including EUR320 million for the licence in late 2006.
