Telekom soon to share fibre says APEK

Slovenian news agency STA reports that Telekom Slovenije, the majority state-owned telecoms incumbent, will soon be forced to allow other operators to lease its fibre-optic network in accordance with a forthcoming decision by the sector regulator, the Agency for Post and Telecommunications (APEK). The information was disclosed by the acting director of APEK, Miha Kriselj, on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, the Supervisory Board of Telecom Slovenije said that the merger of cellular unit Mobitel into the parent company has been unanimously supported by the board and is on schedule to be completed on 1 July 2011.
