ICE offers TDMA subs free 2G or 3G phones

7 Jan 2011

Monopoly wireless network operator ICE has announced that it is offering its last few remaining TDMA subscribers ‘free’ GSM or 3G handsets. A statement by the operator said that it hopes to disconnect the TDMA network by February, calling the technology ‘obsolete’. It is believed that there are around 39,000 customers still using the older platform. According to the statement, customers that make the switch to 3G or GSM can retain the same phone numbers they had on the TDMA service.
