UPC to unveil 20Mbps Fibrepower broadband service from January

16 Dec 2010

UPC Ireland has announced the launch of a 20Mbps Fibrepower Broadband service, available from 4 January 2011 as part of a triple-play bundle including TV and phone services. UPC says its new Fibrepower service will bring a new standard of superfast broadband for Irish users, and is more than twice the speed of rival 8Mbps Next Generation services. By May next year the operator’s US parent Liberty Global Inc claims that more than 99% of its Irish users (currently 184,700) will be accessing the web at speeds of 10Mbps or above.
