The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has restated its official mobile figures for the April-June 2010 period, after an earlier announcement from Hutchison 3G Ireland (3) admitting it had been incorrectly stating its number of active pre-paid subscribers since 2006. Following the revision, the watchdog says 3’s share of the Irish mobile market – including mobile broadband users – has been cut to 5.8% from 9.2% previously. If mobile broadband is excluded, 3’s share of the cellular market was 2.5% compared to 6.1% in 1Q10.
