Cablecos merge to form BTT

At least eleven Bulgarian cable operators and ISPs have merged to form a single company named Bulgarian Telecom and Television (BTT), writes Broadband TV News. According to a report in local newspaper Dnevnik, the enlarged company has a presence in 40 cities and 110 towns and villages, giving it coverage of nearly a million households and over 150,000 subscribers. The companies involved in the merger include NetWorx Bulgaria, Digital Communications, Escom, Internet Communication Optic Network, Telnet, STV, Balchik Net, Optinet, Diana Cable TV, PowerNet and BOL.BG East. BTT has said it will develop its own brand and will work on launching new services, including mobile broadband services.
