Six telecoms operators sign national broadband MoU

23 Nov 2010

Six Thai telecoms operators yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work towards implementing the national broadband policy. ICT Minister Chuti Krairiksh announced that TOT, CAT Telecom, AIS, DTAC, Digital Phone (a subsidiary of AIS) and True Move agreed to follow the principles of network infrastructure sharing, fair network management and fair network access fees. The programme, approved by the government earlier this month, aims to see broadband services cover 80% of Thais by 2015, rising to 95% by 2020, whilst boosting typical connection speeds to 100Mbps in large cities and regional centres of commerce by 2020.
