USD675m national broadband plan approved

The government of Thailand on 9 November 2010 approved the national broadband expansion plan proposed by the Ministry of Information & Communication Technology (MICT), which includes a budget of THB20 billion (USD675 million) for state-run telcos TOT and CAT Telecom to expand high speed internet access. The plan aims to give 80% of the population high speed access by 2015.
