Ukrtelecom and Golden Telecom solve interconnection dispute

8 Nov 2010

Ukrainian former monopoly telco Ukrtelecom has ceased blocking calls to its network from subscribers to alternative operator Golden Telecom (operating under the Beeline brand), after the pair reached an agreement based on new symmetrical interconnection rates. Business.ua, quoted by Telecompaper, reported that the national PTO has also removed all other restrictions applied to Golden Telecom, and will re-launch transit of international traffic for the latter, as well as routing its rival’s domestic calls made on local networks in 21 cities across the country.
