GrameenPhone lays foundations for next-generation services with Huawei

According to a press release on Friday, Chinese network equipment provider Huawei Technologies has been selected by Bangladesh’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, GrameenPhone, to supply and deploy its SingleCORE and SingleRAN network solutions, in a deal of undisclosed value. As part of a three-year agreement, Huawei will reportedly install fourth generation-ready base stations across Bangladesh. The country is still awaiting the auction of 3G mobile frequency licences.
