Kyivstar and Beeline launch Kyivstar-branded fibre broadband packages

4 Nov 2010

Following the recent clearance of their merger by anti-monopoly authorities, Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar and fellow Vimpelcom subsidiary Beeline Ukraine have launched a jointly marketed fibre-optic fixed broadband internet offer under the Kyivstar brand. Telecompaper reports that the tariff plan is available to 1.9 million households in 23 cities, whilst the companies aim to cover 2.2 million households in 37 cities with fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) services by the end of this year. Beeline Ukraine includes cellco Ukrainian Radio Systems (URS) and integrated fixed line, broadband and wireless operator Golden Telecom (Ukraine). As reported recently in CommsUpdate, the Beeline brand will be phased out in Ukraine in favour of the Kyivstar trademark.
