Peru’s largest telecoms company, Telefonica del Peru (TdP) has reported a third-quarter net profit of PEN303.5 million (USD120 million) compared to PEN246.2 million in the same period of 2009. Operating revenues for the three months ended 30 September 2010 were PEN953.9 million, down from PEN982.6 million in Q3 2009. The company posted a gain of PEN109.3 million from the sale of assets. Operationally, TdP reported a year-on-year decline of 50,095 fixed line accesses to end September 2010 with 2.174 million lines in service. Broadband subscribers rose by 8.5% to 826,354 while television customers declined by 1.7% to 711,092.
