Orange introduces 42Mbps HSPA+ to Krakow

7 Oct 2010

Orange Poland has announced the introduction of HSPA+ services, offering maximum download speeds of 42Mbps, to Krakow. By the end of the year the platform will be available on 650 base stations across five cities (Krakow, Katowice, Wroclaw, Poznan and Szczecin), giving it coverage of 11% of the population. As it stands, Orange’s HSPA network (offering speeds of up to 7.2Mbps) has coverage of 56% of the population. In addition, Orange’s CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A network, which offers speeds of up to 3.1Mbps, is expected to have coverage of 90% of the population by the end of 2011, and is the only wireless network in Poland to cover rural parts of the country.
