30 Sep 2010

Bell Aliant has announced that its triple-play fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service, ‘FibreOP’, is being expanded to Prince Edward Island, where 30,000 homes and businesses in Charlottetown and Summerside will gain access to higher speed internet and advanced digital TV services by the end of 2011 under a CAD20 million (USD19.4 million) investment programme. FibreOP will be available in Charlottetown by early spring and Summerside by mid-2011. The investment is part of Bell Aliant’s near-CAD500 million project to roll out FTTH to more than 600,000 homes and businesses by the end of 2012.
