Brit firm acquires SOTEL

As reported in CommsUpdate yesterday, the government of Chad has confirmed that it has sold a 60% stake in Societe des Telecommunications de Tchad (SOTEL) to a UK based company, Mid Cost. Citing authoritative sources, the APA news agency further confirms that the state will retain a 33% stake in the company while the remaining 7% stake will be given to employees. The amount paid for the company has not been disclosed. Under the terms of the contract, the British firm will build a new headquarters building for SOTEL.
