Banglalion expands WiMAX to seventh divisional capital

Banglalion Communications has expanded its commercial WiMAX wireless broadband network to Barisal in the south of Bangladesh, following launches in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur, thereby completing a rollout to all seven divisional headquarters of the country. Indicating some of its targeted customer groups, a spokesperson for Banglalion said that it is ‘committed to make this area a wireless digital city through our strong network and quality of service to healthcare, education, manufacturing industries, financial institution, local chain shops, real estate and information technology for better efficiency, productivity, and better growth.’ Banglalion offers internet access packages at download speeds ranging from 128kbps to 5Mbps at monthly rates of BDT600-BDT15,000 (USD8.80-USD220.50), including a special offer for students – 256kbps for BDT800 a month.
