DTAC’s Q2 profit surges 78.2%

Thailand’s second largest cellular operator by users Digital Total Access Communications (DTAC) has reported a 78.2% year-on-year net profit increase to THB2.4 billion (USD74 million) in the second quarter. Net sales at the Telenor subsidiary climbed 8.9% y-o-y in April-June 2010 to THB17.5 billion, although the figure was down by 0.8% quarter-on-quarter. 2Q10 EBITDA rose 26.2% y-o-y to THB6.0 billion. DTAC’s total active mobile subscribers reached 20.64 million at end-June, up from 19.20 million twelve months earlier.
