Ireland’s An Post launches new MVNO service with Vodafone

9 Jun 2010

Ireland’s national postal operator An Post has launched a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service in the Republic using Vodafone as the host network provider. The postal operator’s new pre-paid Postfone service is available in most counties of Ireland, offering customers a flat rate of EUR0.20 (USD0.24) per minute for all national calls to a fixed line or mobile number and SMS rates of EUR0.09 each. As part of an introductory offer the company is also offering customers EUR60 worth of airtime credit if they switch their existing mobile number from one of the Republic’s incumbents. Moreover, the newcomer has in place a six-month offer giving users an extra EUR10 credit if they top up their SIM by EUR10 in one transaction each month.
