China Mobile to spend USD300 million in Pakistan

China Mobile says it will invest USD300 million into Pakistan subsidiary CMPak (Zong) during 2010 to upgrade the cellco’s network. The Chinese company has already invested almost USD1.7 billion in Pakistan since acquiring a stake in Zong in 2007. At the end of 2009 the cellco had a 7% share of the subscriber market, according to figures from TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
