Edmonton gets a sniff of Wind

Canada’s newest cellular operator Globalive Wireless (Wind Mobile) has expanded its commercial network to Edmonton. Wind, backed by Egypt’s Orascom Telecom, launched in Toronto and Calgary in December, and plans to expand its network to Ottawa and Vancouver in the coming months. The cellco provides nationwide coverage via a roaming agreement with Rogers Communications.
