Ukrtelecom narrows net loss as revenues recover

Showing some signs of recovering from Ukraine’s economic slump, national PTO and 3G mobile operator Ukrtelecom has posted total consolidated revenues of UAH8.138 billion (USD1.035 billion) for full-year 2009, up from a reported UAH7.890 billion in 2008, and reversing the previous 2% year-on-year fall, whilst its net loss narrowed from a whopping UAH1.528 billion in 2008 to UAH456 million last year. Operating loss for the fixed line, broadband and cellular provider narrowed to UAH36 million in 2009, compared to UAH128 million the year before.
