GTS to fight for GSM/UMTS licence in 2010

21 Dec 2009

Czech alternative fixed line operator GTS Novera intends to bid for the GSM/UMTS licence being awarded by the Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU) next year, local newspaper E15 quotes the company’s Pavel Kaidl as saying. The GTS official confirmed his attention to participate in the process but added that it was still too early to say if it would be going it alone, or acting as part of a consortium bid. Kaidl went on to say that the firm has long been trying to enter the mobile market in order to become a so-called ‘converged’ operator.
