Emtel launches WiMAX Broadband Internet product

Emtel of Mauritius yesterday launched a wireless broadband internet service based on WiMAX technology targeting business users, but also available to the consumer market. Emtel’s ‘Wimax Broadband Internet’ service is offered in three flavours: Wimax Professional (the home version), Wimax Business and Wimax VPN (Virtual Private Network). Wimax Professional is available with an entry-level 128kbps connection for MUR975 (USD34.20), rising to MUR13,798 for a 2Mbps line. In addition, users will need to pay a one-off installation fee of MUR1,600.
