Czech mobile operator T-Mobile says the roll out of its 3G/HSPA network in the country has entered the final phase, following the launch of user trials on 9 December. The cellco’s UMTS network is initially available in parts of the capital Prague and is slated for commercial launch in January 2010. Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) supplied the network equipment for the cellco, which hopes to realise downlink and uplink data transfer rates of 3Mbps/1.5Mbps during the trial. People wishing to take part in the trial can register by sending a SMS to a special number and any data transfers made will be billed to them as part of their standard tariff pal or data add-ons, the cellco said. Next year, T-Mobile CR hopes to extend the reach of the network to other regional cities across the country.
