Regulator hints at 3G delay until February

30 Oct 2009

Thailand’s long-awaited 3G mobile licence auction is likely to be delayed to late January or early February from a previous schedule of mid-December, as the bidding documentation process may take longer than planned, reports Reuters quoting a member of the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC). Settaporn Kusripitak said that following a second public hearing on the draft auction terms on 12 November, it should take a further 45-60 days for bidders to prepare documents, rather than the 30 days previously announced.
