TIM Brasil, Qualcomm launch multi-platform wireless apps store

Brazilian mobile operator TIM Brasil and wireless technologies developer Qualcomm today announced their plans to launch the Latin American region’s first multi-platform wireless applications store. The new TIM App Store is being supported by the vendor’s Plaza Retail suite which is designed to support a wide range of O/S and service platforms including, Java, BREW, Flash and Android, with planned support for Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian and LiMo. Through the App Store, subscribers will be able to download applications directly to their handsets by accessing TIM Brasil’s WAP portal through its web store.
