BH Telecom and Ericsson Nikola Tesla sign 3G expansion deal

25 Sep 2009

Croatia-based technology partner Ericsson Nikola Tesla has announced that it has inked new agreements worth approximately HRK32 million (USD6.5 million) with BH Telecom, the state-owned Bosnian telco. It is understood that the latest contracts between the two companies relate to the extension of BH Telecom’s 3G network, as well as the upgrade of the telco’s core network. Under the contract for 3G network expansion, Ericsson Nikola Tesla will deliver, install and integrate 3G equipment, and commenting on the deal Gordana Kovacevic, president of the vendor said: ‘I’m very pleased, that on the basis of further extension of BH Telecom 3G network, we shall enable the offering of the advanced 3G services to the considerably larger number of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens. This achievement is the result of the strategic commitment of BH Telecom to introduce new technologies, and simultaneously it confirms the excellent cooperation between the two companies’.

According to TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, these latest agreements come hot on the heels of the announcement earlier this month by the two companies that they had signed an agreement for the expansion of BH Telecom’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE infrastructure.
