Magnet deploys Motorola solution to extend IPTV coverage

Irish alternative operator Magnet Networks has deployed Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility’s VIP1900 series IPTV set-top boxes in the Republic, improving its ability to deliver high quality IP Video services to customers across Ireland. Commenting on the announcement Mark Kellet, CEO of Magnet, said: ‘We’re pleased to be extending our relationship with Motorola. We opted to work with Motorola, not only because it has the products and services that best fit our needs, but also because we know that Motorola continues to develop innovative technology solutions that enhance customer experiences in the future. We believe that by working together we can provide enhanced and rich services to all of our customers.’

Magnet Entertainment, the consumer services division of Magnet Networks, utilises broadband technology to provide a range of phone, internet and TV services to Irish residential customers nationwide. The company has pioneered ultra-high speed broadband access in Ireland offering speeds of up to 50Mbps; it claims to own the largest fibre network in Ireland and the UK.
