BH Telecom adds content authority system for IPTV; launch imminent

2 Sep 2009

State-owned Bosnian telco BH Telecom has moved one step closer to the launch of IPTV services, after completing the successful deployment of US-based Verimatrix’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS). Verimatrix has announced that VCAS has been integrated into BH Telecom’s network by Smart Com, which had previously deployed its own BeeSmart middleware solution for IPTV for the Bosnian operator. The integrated solution is expected to allow secure delivery of live TV channels in digital quality, as well as enabling video-on-demand (VOD) content, an electronic programme guide to manage personal video recordings, voice calls via TV screen and games. Commenting on the development, Nedzad Residbegovic, general manager of BH Telecom, said: ‘The right mix of channel variety, on demand content and innovative interactive features is a major factor for the widespread adoption by our subscribers’. BH Telecom will offer its IPTV services under the ‘Moja TV’ brand, and a commercial launch is expected before the end of this month.
