Zon to launch 1Gbps broadband

7 Aug 2009

Portuguese cableco Zon Multimedia has announced that it will launch two new broadband offerings with peak download speeds of 200Mbps and 1Gbps across its fibre-optic next generation network (NGN) in September. The two new tariffs will be available under the ‘Zon Fibra’ branding, which was launched in July 2009, offering integrated, triple-play bundles. Rival cable operator Cabovisao currently provides the fastest offering available on the market, with download speeds of up to 120Mbps.
